With ViewMedica, your animation is crafted by expert medical illustrators and storytellers. As the leader in patient education streaming, we make custom animation more accessible—delivering high-quality, engaging visuals at a competitive price.

How it works

We’ve built a clear, step-by-step process so you always know what to expect.

Step 1 — Initial consultation

Request a consultation and tell us about your project idea. We will follow up to:

  • Confirm if we are a good match for your project

  • Review timeline expectations (1 month minimum lead time)

  • Provide a ballpark cost estimate (most projects start at $10,000 per finished minute)

  • Share a preview of our approach

Step 2 — Deep dive with our Director

If you’re still interested, we’ll set up a detailed conversation with our Director of Medical Animation. Here, we review your project goals and guide you through our Project Checklist.

Our Project Checklist

Project Overview — Topic, purpose (education, marketing, legal, etc.)

Audience & Tone — Target audience and preferred style (realistic, schematic, stylized)

Source Material — Assets you can provide (scripts, 3D models, scans, etc.) vs. what we’ll create

Technical Scope — Length, format (2D/3D), resolution, advanced effects, complexity

Usage & Deliverables — Where and how the animation will be used; alternate versions or languages needed

Timeline — Target delivery date (minimum 1-month lead time) and review milestones (storyboard, animatic, final)

Budget Range — Sharing your range allows us to tailor scope effectively

Rights & Licensing — You own the final product outright. No hidden licensing fees.

Step 3 — Proposal & agreement

We compile everything from the deep dive into a custom proposal that includes:

  • Scope of work

  • Timeline with milestones

  • Detailed cost estimate

  • Expected deliverables (e.g. scriptwriting, voiceover, pre-viz, animation, music, effects, revisions, stills, rights)

Once approved, production begins.

Step 4 — Production & delivery

Your animation follows a clear production process, each with one round of revisions and allowances for minor adjustments to keep your project on schedule and on budget.

The Production Process

Script Approval — We help shape your key messaging into a clear, concise script that defines scope and estimated runtime.

Pre-visualization Approval — Illustrated frames and preliminary 3D renders outline the sequence and style of your animation.

Animatic Approval — A timed 3D rough cut with voiceover previews pacing, flow, and transitions.

Final Delivery — We deliver the completed animation in your requested format, with a final review and adjustments included.
