These updates are usually done automatically. However, if you are experiencing VMcast playback issues such as a black screen where your broadcast loop should be, you may need to manually update your device.
Check for updates
Press and hold the Home (⌂) button on the Fire TV stick remote for a few seconds. A quick access menu should appear covering the entire screen.
Select "Settings."
Select the "My Fire TV" option.
Select the "About" option.
Scroll down and select "Check for Updates."
Install updates
If the "Install Update" option appears, select it. Downloading and installing updates may take some time.
Important
Repeat these steps until you see the message, "Your Fire TV is up to date." Then, relaunch the VMcast app to play your content.
