When adding a YouTube video content item to ViewMedica, click the "Preview" button to make sure the video loads. If the preview doesn't load your video, please check your YouTube settings.

YouTube video settings to keep in mind

These settings will keep YouTube videos from playing in ViewMedica or disrupt viewing.

Allow Embedding

Check that the video setting to "Allow embedding" is enabled. If it isn't, the video won't play in ViewMedica. You can change this setting on YouTube.

Privacy

Check that the video privacy setting is "Public" or "Unlisted." If the video is set to "Private," it won't play in ViewMedica. You can change this setting on YouTube.

Advertisements

If you don't want ads to pop up over your videos, check that the advertisements setting "Disable interest-based ads" is selected. You can change this setting in YouTube Studio.

Note

Turning off advertisements won't work if you don't have the ability to "Monetize" a video.

Smart devices

VMcast looping and the On-Demand presentations "Play All" feature for some tablet devices and smartphones are not fully supported when YouTube videos are used
